Dr Jayakumar Jayanarayan is a dedicated and empathetic psychiatrist with advanced clinical training in Psychiatry from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. He completed his DNB Psychiatry training at the prestigious Mental Health Centre, Peroorkada, Thiruvananthapuram, where he gained extensive exposure to complex psychiatric conditions and high-volume clinical practice.

He has received specialised training from premier institutions in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, and Behavioural Therapy. His multidisciplinary clinical exposure also includes Neurology, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and General Medicine from the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Dr Jayakumar has experience in managing a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, stress-related conditions, addiction psychiatry, behavioural concerns, and severe mental illnesses. His clinical approach combines scientific understanding with compassionate patient care, helping individuals feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their recovery journey.

Known for his calm demeanour, patience, and strong communication skills, he believes in creating a safe and confidential therapeutic environment for every client.

He is also academically active, having presented at the national psychiatry conference ANCIPS 2024 on the topic of aggression and violence in psychiatry and researched physical activity among individuals with severe mental illness.

He is currently practising in various clinics and hospitals in Trivandrum, and is also well versed in English, Malayalam, Tamil and Arabic.
