ONLINE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN PSYCHOLOGY
Hapinus Care, Kerala’s leading mental health and wellness clinic, offers a structured and in-depth online psychology internship program for undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students, recent graduates, and aspiring mental health professionals. The program is developed to provide practical clinical exposure, strong theoretical foundations, and supervised therapeutic practice, all in a flexible online format that can be accessed anywhere in the world. Interns are immersed in a clinical environment where they not only learn but actively participate in psychological service delivery.
A cornerstone of this internship is case history analysis, where interns are trained in how to collect, organize, and interpret detailed psychological profiles. This includes learning how to conduct intake interviews, evaluate mental status, identify psychological red flags, assess personal and family history, and formulate clinical impressions. Interns are guided on how to write professional-level case summaries and therapy reports, an essential skill for any practicing psychologist. Each week, interns engage in interactive case discussions, using real (anonymized) case files from Hapinus Care’s diverse client base. These sessions are moderated by experienced clinical psychologists who encourage group-based diagnostic reasoning, ethical decision-making, and collaborative treatment planning. Interns are encouraged to present their case interpretations and receive feedback, helping build clinical confidence and a deeper understanding of therapeutic approaches.
To further enhance hands-on learning, the internship includes role play simulations of major psychological disorders, providing a safe space to apply therapeutic strategies in real-world scenarios. Disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), borderline personality disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder are covered in-depth. Interns take turns acting as therapist and client, learning how to manage sessions using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and relaxation training. These role plays not only help interns internalize therapeutic techniques but also refine their communication skills, empathy, and professional conduct. Sessions are recorded or observed live by supervisors who offer direct, actionable feedback after each performance.
The program also features intensive training in various therapeutic interventions, including CBT for cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation, DBT for emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, hypnotherapy for subconscious work, and solution-focused therapy for rapid goal setting.
Additionally, modules in Child and Adolescent Counseling and Family and Relationship Therapy are included to help interns understand how to address psychological concerns across different life stages and relationship dynamics. Practical workshops are organized to help interns become familiar with psychological assessments, basic psychometric tools, therapy planning, and ethical dilemmas in clinical practice. Special sessions are also provided on teletherapy ethics, confidentiality protocols, online counseling etiquette, and the use of digital tools in therapy.
Each intern is assigned a dedicated mentor—a licensed clinical psychologist or psychotherapist—who provides ongoing supervision, evaluates progress, and supports personal and professional development throughout the internship. Interns receive structured feedback on their casework, role-play performance, and therapy planning assignments. They are also guided in how to prepare clinical documentation, conduct psychoeducation sessions, and contribute to psycho-social assessments.
The internship is available in three formats—15 days, 30 days, and 3 months—with morning and evening batch options to accommodate different schedules. All sessions are conducted via secure online platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet, allowing flexible participation for interns across states and countries. Upon successful completion of the internship, interns are awarded an Internship Certificate certified by an RCI licensed Psychologist, and exceptional performers may also receive a Letter of Recommendation or appointment at our firm, which adds great value to academic and professional profiles.
To apply, interested candidates are required to submit a Statement of Purpose outlining their goals and interest in the internship OR a letter from the HOD of your department. Applications can be sent to –
